Jooa, a South Korean-born artist now residing in Melbourne, delves into captivating dichotomies within her narratives. Her art is a deep exploration of the interplay between integration and segregation, as well as the dynamics of connection and disconnection.

With a Master's degree in Science and ongoing research in the field of medical science, Jooa's artistic journey is profoundly shaped by her academic background. Her experiences in the world of academia, often associated with privilege and high social status, stand in stark contrast to her identity as a foreigner, evoking a pervasive feeling of not entirely belonging. Upon her arrival in Australia, she was faced with the necessity of engaging with a diverse spectrum of people, spanning from the homeless to esteemed professors. This striking contrast left an indelible mark on her worldview, causing her to perceive the world as a convergence of conflicting diversities. Nevertheless, beneath these disparities, Jooa recognizes that all people are ultimately united by a common thread.

Her work masterfully reflects the intricate tapestry of these complexities.

Jooa firmly believes that art is a potent tool for documenting and preserving the intricate facets of life, drawing parallels to the structured and systematic approach of science.
