A love letter to Melbourne

"I am a small-town boy from the south of Chile, where the glaciers of the Andes and ancient forests get their feet washed by the icy waters of the southern Pacific Ocean. I moved to Australia thirteen years ago and the cultural shock and the loneliness and homesickness of the earlier years has given way to my enchanted love for this city. Melbourne has become a muse to me; it’s streets, alleys, people, aromas, colours and shapes have in some way replaced my longing to see the familiar rural sights of a typical southern Chilean winter. The many stories we can find in a simple glimpse of a busy Melbourne street is something that amazed me; the amplitude of origins, the hope and desperation, the love and apathy draw a unique picture of the complexities of our human kind, which I hope I have managed to capture through this series of sketches, which have been done with black fine liner pen and ruler was not used"
